Do I need BCAAs if I already take protein?
If you're getting enough complete protein (whey, eggs, meat), additional BCAAs offer little extra benefit. They're more useful during fasted training, fasted cardio, or when total protein intake is low.
When should I take BCAAs?
During or after training is most common. They can also be taken during fasted morning cardio to protect muscle from breakdown.
What BCAA ratio is best?
The 2:1:1 ratio (leucine:isoleucine:valine) is the most studied and what's found in nature. Higher leucine ratios (4:1:1+) don't show additional benefits in studies.
